NCPA International Jazz Festival


Friday, 24th November| 7.00 p.m. | Tata Theatre
The Latination
Founded and led by Emmanuel Simon, the Latin jazz pianist brings his band The Latination, to the festival. India’s only genuine Latin jazz band, Latination promises to be an exciting component in this festival. This Kolkata-based band has wowed audiences wherever they have played.
Kevin Davy Quintet
The Kevin Davy Quintet from the UK has the leader playing trumpet, flugelhorn and a special muted trumpet; he plays the beautiful modal music of the classic Miles Davis band.

Elisabetta Antonini Quartet
Elisabetta Antonini is the first Italian female singer to sign with the prestigious independent label Candid Records, of renowned music producer Alan Bates. She is the Winner of the Top Jazz Magazine Award, voted by critics as The Best New Talent 2014 - Featuring Roberto Tarenzi – Pianoforte, Francesco Puglisi – Contrabbasso, Marcello Di Leonardo - Batteria
Worry Later Quintet
Austrian band Worry Later has several brass instruments and will play music from their latest album Humpty Bump.

Greg Banaszak Quintet
The Greg Banaszak Quintet from the US will include Theron Brown on piano, Christopher Anderson on slide trombone, Gianluca Liberatore on upright bass and Aron Nyro on drums. Banaszak played a masterful set on his alto saxophone at the NCPA a few years ago of ‘Bird with Strings’ – the music of Charlie Parker.
Jam Session
The finale of the jazz festival will be a jam session where musicians from all participating bands will join in and play an impromptu set.
