On this full-day tour you will get a glimpse of Bandel, Chinsurah, Chandannagar and Serampore and you will be introduced to the amazing cultural confluence along the Hooghly River, often called 'Europe on the Ganges'.
You will see where the siege of Shah Jahan took place, meet Nazrul Islam the 'Rebel Poet', learn about Bankim Chandra's famous song, hear about the Rising of Mangal Pandey and reflect onWilliam Carey's incredible legacy. You will visit a museum with early Indian prints, enjoy the tranquility of the oldest church in Bengal, climb a clock tower of a famous Imambarah, explore the remains of an Old Dutch fort, wind your way through tiny alleys of stately Bengali palaces, and finish with a stroll along a French boulevard, all the while enjoying amazing river views.
