Illumination, who brought audiences Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, continues the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters--Margo, Edith and Agnes--and the Minions in Despicable Me 3. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, the animated film is produced by Illumination's Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud.

Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central's global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who's grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the '80s, and proves to be Gru's most formidable nemesis to date. The film will be released in theaters in summer 2017.

But that doesnt take away from the fact that this too is 1.5 hours of silly fun with a filling of marshmallowy niceness. Yes, it couldve been better, it could have been a unicorn but we too, like Agnes, are pretty happy with this one-horned goat we found in the woods. ...Read full review
Despicable Me has enough soul in its heart, substance in its artistry and spring in its step to try and subvert the formula just yet. Although the climax feels bloated and has the appearance of a superhero blockbuster template, it never loses sight of its fun-filled essence. ...Read full review

Themes of family and bonding remain front and center in "Despicable Me 3", which sees reformed villain Gru working hard at building a healthy relationship with the brother he never knew he had. It`s lighthearted, inoffensive stuff even if it doesn`t quite scale Pixar-level heights. To be fair though, the strength of this franchise has never been plot or story; it`s always been about mining laughs from placing the characters at the center of ridiculous gags. ...Read full review
