Lekh, a talented and hardworking 31-year-old film writer who is unhappy with his life, gets a chance to improve his own situation when his henchmen, Irfan gets him an assignment to write a remake of a Telugu blockbuster. Although initially reluctant, Lekh takes-up the project, but soon hits a writer's block. To make things more difficult, Lekh is distracted by a mysterious girl who is held captive by her brother in their apartment. To help the girl escape, Lekh delves deep into her dark world. How he rescues the girl and how he completes the assignment forms the crux.

The Window, a bare-boned indie, is essentially another mad writer tale in an unforgiving industry that spawns more madness than stories. As a result, it is personal and therapeutic mostly for the maker which explains its self-awareness as an indulgent and angst-ridden exercise in depicting the contradictions of an indulgent and angsty writer.
