SYNOPSIS
Shruthi (Vaani Kapoor) is 20-something no-nonsense girl from middle class Chennai household living on Mint Street. She is focused and determined. With planned ambitions, her goal in life is well laid out for her, by the time she reaches her final year of college.

Shaktivel (Nani), on the other hand, has no real aim in life. As a final year college student of Madras University, he whiles away his life having fun with his friends.

A chance and opportune meeting or rather fate brings the two of them together on a tumultuous journey where they become partners in their very own wedding-planning business.

The rules however are clear: ``Finance-um Romance-um onnu sera mudiyathu``(Finance and romance can never go hand in hand).

Together, their friendship and business, enters the ups and down of the lavish Chennai weddings. And while trying to find themselves, Shruthi and Shakti discover each other and realize that rule book cannot always be followed.

Yash Raj Films make their foray into South Indian cinema with Aaha Kalyanam, a remake of their own 2010 hit Band Baaja Baaraat. Releasing simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, the film is directed by debutant A Gokul Krishna. Nani and Vaani Kapoor of Shudh Desi Romance fame play the lead roles supported by Badava Gopi, M J Sriram and yesteryear actor Simran in a cameo role.
