SYNOPSIS
Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy, who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London, finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw. Scale is impressive in a movie, if there is substance to back it. So when Peter Jackson decided to produce `Mortal Engines`, a film that is based on the books by the same name, you know it will be on a big scale and there will be enough substance to back it. However, that is not the case here at all.
