SYNOPSIS
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel.

After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

And what an intricate work of art it is. Crafted by hundreds of immensely talented people, sculpted around a flawless central performance by Andy Serkis, a maverick and a maven. Hard boiled film geeks will find a treasure trove of inspirations in this film from Apocalypse Now, to The Bridge on the River Kwai, to Schindlers List, and many more seminal films. Harrelsons character is in fact quite reminiscent of Marlon Brandos Colonel Kurtz, and its astonishing how the film explores the current state of things in America white supremacy, racism, blind jingoism and a military bent through this characters eyes, and rendering a vital piece of information that makes his characters motivations believable and understandable. ...Read full review
