The founding Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of India, internationally renowned violinist Marat Bisengaliev has been described by The Times as a brilliant violin soloist. Apart from the SOI, Marat also founded two orchestras in his home country Kazakhstan. Bisengaliev recently conducted SOI performances of Carmina Burana and the Enigma Variations.
Armenian cellist Sevak Avanesyan studied with the well-known Armenian cellist Medea Abrahamyan, student of legendary Mstislav Rostropovitsch. Avanesyan is a laureate of many international competitions, such as the International cello Competition Gerardmer (France), the European Competition for Young Soloists (Luxemburg), the Sint-Pieters-Woluwe cello competition, Sevak Avanesyan plays on the very first Matio Gofriller cello from 1689 kindly given to him by Mischa Maisky. Sevak will perform Dvoraks cello concerto which is considered the most famous piece in the genre.
This performance runs approximately 110 minutes, with one intermission.
