A Hindi adaptation of The Front Page – a famous Broadway comedy about tabloid newspaper reporters on the police beat, written by former Chicago reporters Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.
The Front Page is basically about the romance of journalism, in which the scribes rarely come across as angels but are eventually instrumental in the revelation of the truth. The drama unfolds in a newsroom attached to a jail where a hanging is about to take place. The adapted play in Hindi is set in Delhi of the 1990s and promises to be an entertainer.
Produced by Dramatech is a registered theatre group of Delhi, consisting primarily of alumni and present students of IIT Delhi, IIMs, Delhi University and other institutions. It was formed in 1984 by three theatre enthusiasts belonging to IIT Delhi alumni and has over 40 successful productions to its credit.
