One of the original Mean Girls (2004) and a taxidermy fanatic, Amanda Seyfried has been acting since an early age of fifteen. Soaring from the television to films, Seyfried is one of Hollywood`s up and coming actresses. She began her acting career with the television soap operas As the World Turns, and All My Children. Seyfried appeared in the first four seasons as Sarah Henrickson in the American television drama series Big Love on HBO between 2006 and 2011. She co-starred Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan in the musical romantic comedy film Mamma Mia! (2008) based on the songs of the pop group ABBA where she recorded a music video titled "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" Some of her remarkable performances are in the movies Jennifer`s Body (2008), Chloe (2009), Letters to Juliet (2010), Les Miserables (2012), and Lovelace (2013).

Early Life
Amanda Seyfried was born on December 3, 1985, in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Ann, an occupational therapist, and Jack Seyfried, a pharmacist. She has a German, English, Scots-Irish, and Welsh ancestry. She has an older sister, Jennifer Seyfried, who is a musician in an organ-driven rock band, Love City, in Philadelphia. Seyfried began her career with modeling at the age of 11 where she appeared in print ads for the brand Limited Too with the Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester. She appeared on three covers of a novel series created by Francine Pascal called Sweet Valley High. Seyfried graduated from William Allen High School in 2003. She decided against joining Fordham University in New York City to act in the teen movie Mean Girls. Seyfried is known for her anxiety but she considers it as an asset and says it helps her with her acting.

Personal Life
Seyfried dated Dominic Cooper, her Mamma Mia! co-star, from 2008 to 2010, and actor Justin Long from 2013 to 2015. In early 2016, she started dating her The Last Word (2016) co-star Thomas Sadoski and announced her engagement in September 2016. In November 2016, they announced that they were expecting their first child.

TV Career
Seyfried began her acting career with television, and she appeared as an extra in an American Television soap opera Guiding Light. During 2000-2001, she played Lucy Montgomery on As the World Turns, a CBS soap opera, following which she was seen as Joni Stafford on All My Children, an ABC soap opera. Seyfried then appeared as the murdered best friend of the lead Veronica in Veronica Mars on UPN for ten episodes. Between 2006 and 2011, she played Sarah Henrickson in the American television drama series Big Love on HBO.

Movie Career
Before getting to play Karen Smith in the 2004`s Mean Girls, Seyfried was considered to play the lead role Cady Heron, which was later played by Lindsay Lohan, while she auditioned to play the role of Regina George, which was then played by Rachel McAdams. Seyfried owes a lot of her career success to her breakthrough with the movie Mean Girls, which was a box office hit and earned over USD 129 million in its theatrical run. In 2005, Seyfried played the role of teenaged Samantha who is torn between her non-communicative parents in Nine Lives by Rodrigo Garcia, which was specially written for her.

She played the lead in the musical romantic movie Mamma Mia! (2008) where she co-starred with Meryl Streep. Seyfried recorded five songs for the film`s soundtrack and shot the music video for the song "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" In March 2008, she played Anita Lesnicki in a comedy horror film Jennifer`s Body. The 2009 erotic thriller Chloe was one of Seyfried`s best performances in her career, which garnered favorable reviews from the critics and was also a commercial success. She played the title character of an escort who is hired by a woman to judge her husband`s fidelity. Her 2010 release, Dear John, opposite Channing Tatum was a film adaptation of Nicolas Sparks` novel by the same name that received negative reviews. Despite the reviews, it was the first film to break Avatar`s box office reign at number one by grossing USD 115 million worldwide. In 2012, she played the role of Cosette in the film adaptation of the musical Les Miserables, which had a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

In 2013, Seyfried lent her voice in the successful animated movie Epic and appeared in films like The Big Wedding, The End of Love and the biopic Lovelace, which earned Seyfried critical acclaim for her portrayal of Linda Lovelace. In 2015, she was a part of the comedy Ted 2 and Pan (2015). Later, the actress appeared in films Fathers and Daughters (2016) and First Reformed (2017). Her 2018 releases include the Netflix original film Anon, the crime comedy Gringo and the sequel of Mamma Mia! (2008), Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019), You Should Have Left (2020) and Things Heard & Seen (2021).
