Edna May Oliver was an American stage and film actor. In the 1930s, she was one of the well-known character actor in American films and often playing sarcastique old woman. She appeared in movies like Romeo and Juliet, The Wizard of Oz, A Tale of Two Cities, David Copperfield and Little Women. She died on her 59th birthday following a short intestinal ailment that proved to be terminal.
