Lasse Hallstrom

Lasse Hallstrom is a Swedish director who initially gained recognition for directed the music videos for the pop group ABBA. He made his feature directorial debut in 1975 with the movie A Guy and a Gal. In 1985, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Director for the movie My Life as a Dog. Some of his other notable films include What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), The Cider House Rules (1999), and Chocolat (2000). His 2017 release includes the movie A Dog's Purpose starring Josh Gad (voices for the characters: Bailey, Ellie, Tino and Buddy), Dennis Quad, KJ Apa, Juliet Rylance and Peggy Lipton. His 2018 release includes The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
