Sidhartha Maadhyamika is an actor, playwright, theatre director and voice-over artist based in Bangalore and working primarily in Kannada film and theatre mediums since 2007. Sidhartha was born in a village called Kudithini in Bellary district in the state of Karnataka, India in the year 1985.
He is a fourth generation artiste, belonging to a family of thespians. His early years were spent in the travelling theatre companies owned by both the paternal and maternal sides of his family, thus planting the seeds of storytelling and love of literature which inevitably led him towards pursuing professional theatre and film work despite the disapproval of his parents.
He began his journey as a professional actor in the repertories of companies like Kinnaramela and Janamanadaata in 2007. He earned his diploma in theatre arts from NINASAM, Heggodu in 2009 and since then has worked in several theatre productions, notable of which are Nino D`Introna and Giacomo Ravicchio`s Robinson and Crusoe directed by Gracias Devaraj for AHA!, Bangalore; Tughlaq written by Girish Karnad and directed by Dr. Samkutty Pattomkary for the Samudaaya theatre team and Hasida Kallugalu (The Hungry Stones) by Rabindranath Tagore directed by Heisnam Tomba for Theatre Samurai.
He has written and directed three plays - `Namma Itihaasa`, `Ee Naavu` and adapted a short story by S Diwakar - `Itihaasa`.
Although he has appeared in several films since 2009 as supporting cast, 2016`s Krishna-Rukku by Anil Kumar and Kempammana Court Case by Cudavalli Chandrashekar saw him in more prominent roles of a charming rogue and a lawyer fighting for the oppressed, respectively. He has also worked as an Associate Director to P.Seshadri for his upcoming film.
2017`s Shuddhi written and directed by Adarsh H Eshwarappa has him essaying the role of a Special Crime Branch officer - Bharath Gowda on an investigation trail.
