Simon Kinberg is a British-born American screenwriter and producer who is best known for his work in the X-Men film franchise. He started out in Hollywood by penning the screenplay for popular films like Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), before venturing into production with the sci-fi action movie Jumper (2008). Kinberg has since produced critically acclaimed blockbusters like X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), The Martian (2015) and Deadpool (2016). Besides these, he has also served as a screenwriter for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes (2009), the dark fantasy action horror film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). Other significant film credits as a producer include the Matt Damon starrer Elysium (2013), Logan (2017) and the mystery drama Murder on the Orient Express (2017).
