About The Event

Many moons ago, the legendary Russian writer Anton Chekhov penned brilliant comic stories with teeth. Beneath the laughter lurked a razor-sharp message about exploitation.

Enter Dinesh Thakur — veteran playwright, powerhouse actor, and visionary director. He took Chekhov’s gems and exploded them onto the stage as AAPAS KI BAAT — a play that hits hard and entertains harder.

The writer, in an informal chat, opens his mind to us. Ideas are clawing for space in there. He picks four and unleashes them, fully loaded, with a cast of characters pulled from every rung of society. Rich, poor, powerful, desperate — all colliding.

As each story unfolds, exploitation changes shape before your eyes. The line between oppressor and oppressed starts to blur. Then it vanishes. Who’s using who? Are we all trapped in the same game — exploiting while being exploited?

Four stories. Four gut-punches:

The Mistress vs. Milli — She talks down to her maid. Classic power trip. Textbook exploitation of the weak. But wait… is anything here what it seems?

Sumit’s Seduction — He wants Reeta. So he woos her… through her husband Nikhil. This isn’t crude force. This is exploitation dressed in silk gloves.

The Beach Hustler — Out of nowhere, a man storms the beach. He’s selling his wild brand of entertainment to the writer — risking his life for a handful of coins. Desperation has a face.

The Bank Heist — A random woman strolls into a bank. Her plan? Extort cash. Surely the bank’s too smart to fall for it… or is it?

By the end, you’re not just watching. You’re squirming. Laughing. Wondering which side of the line you’re on.
