"Amal" is an intimate, one-woman show that explores the complex relationship between a daughter and her absent father, set against the backdrop of generational trauma from the Partition of India. Amal’s father, grapples with his fractured identity, struggling to find a sense of belonging to his country, language, and roots. Through Amal’s eyes, the play traces her journey.
With themes of hate, reconciliation, and the search for identity, Amal is a reflection on the long shadow cast by history on personal lives, and the enduring desire to heal familial and generational wounds.
