The play shows the conflicting thoughts of the two political stalwarts with similar aim but different means. The issue of untouchability & the plight of the Dalits is a significant thread expressed in the play. The play also voices out the dissatisfaction in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar about the efforts put by M.K. Gandhi for the removal of untouchability. Gandhi & Ambedkar worked to stop untouchability & discrimination, but they had difference of opinions & thoughts in addressing & fighting the historical social issue.
Antithetical views & the realization that Gandhi & Ambedkar's vision was one, but means different - forms the fabric of the play. With special references made to the round table conferences, Kala Ram Mandir Satyagrah, Communal award & Poona pact, Ambedkar unfolds the limitations of Gandhi's vision in addressing the problem of untouchability & also his failure in attacking the root of the problem. In play the anguish over the sufferings of Dalits had come out very clearly. At the same time, at no place Gandhi has been vilified, his own feelings towards the Communal award has been shown honestly.
