Aurat is a play based on the collection of short stories by Rabindra Tagore, Ismat Chugtai and Anton Chekhov. The stories revolve around three different women protagonist.

In the first story written by Rabindranath Tagore, a local villager narrates a story about a young couple to a stranger. The tale is about Manimalika's love for gold ornaments and her husband's desires to shower these treasures and love.

Laajo, based on Ismat Chugtai's story, is about a woman of illegitimate birth and precise pleasures. Her relationships are open-ended. In the hour of love, she holds back nothing from men, neither from men with big bucks nor from the men with none.

The third story by Anton Chekhov's talks about Olenka. Olenka needs to be loved, without it, she is like an empty shell mimicking the ideas and opinions of those she loves, while has none of her own.

Through this play you see the vibrant colors radiating not in mere appearance but in the thoughts and desires of a woman.
