Chandaa Bedni

A breathless tale and a musical play based on the relationship between enchantment in art and traditions of religion, power in authority and purity, and lying and honesty in love. Playwright Alakhnandan takes us to the grassroots of Bundelkhand’s colourful cultural life and the values of the playful Bedni tribe where women are the sole bread earners. The play revolves around the life of Chanda, a courtesan ruling the hearts of all her admirers, royalty and commoners alike. A Brahmin boy falls in love with her unconditionally and she discovers a love she never knew existed.
