About the Play:
`Chithrathuraga Nyaaya arthaath Keerthiya Avaanthara`, is a thoughtful play adpated to kannada by Shridhar heggodu from an early 20th century play `The Great Adventure` written by Arnold Bennett. This play is based on a novel `Burried Alive` authored by Arnols Bennett himself.
The narrative revolves around an illustrious painter, and his interactions with various characters who influence his life and work as he navigates the complexities of fame, illness, and personal relationships. The play delves into themes of art, societal expectations, and the personal struggles faced by an artist in the public eye. Caught under the web of socio-poiltical conditions, the struggle and agony of the protogonist appears to be relevant and contemporary.
This play was staged for the first time in London around a century ago. It saw 674 shows at a strech. Later, Broadway Theatre gave 57 shows.
