Girish Karnad'ss final play Crossing to Talikota deals with the fall of the Vijayanagar empire in 1565.
It tells the story of the final days of Ramaraya the ruler of vijayanagar and the battle that he initiates with his neighbouring Sultans in order to assert and prove his authority and control over the Deccan. A political and emotional drama the play dwells on familiar Karnad themes on the large canvas of Hampi and the battle that ruined it.
This is a world premiere of Karnad's final work. A splendidly mounted production features the direction of Arjun Sajnani who has teamed with top-notch professionals to bring this play to life.
