'Dance Like A Man' which has been written by the Sahitya Akademi Awardee Mahesh Dattani and Produced and Directed by Lillette Dubey, (Artistic Director of The Primetime Theatre Company), is a milestone in Indian English theatre.
It is easily the longest running Indian play in English with 600 shows around the world, from New Zealand across multiple countries in Asia and South East Asia, from the Middle East to South Africa and Zambia, from the UK to several cities in the US, including long runs at mainstream theatres in London, Kuala Lampur, Edinburgh, New York etc . The play is one of Indias most widely travelled plays and has been invited to perform at innumerable National and International Festivals, to much acclaim.

The Primetime Theatre Co. Short Bio
The Primetime Theatre Company was set up in March 1991 with the twin objectives of providing a platform for original Indian writing in English and travelling with its work across India and abroad to showcase indigenous work in different cultures and milieus and also explore performances in different spaces and venues. The company has tried to showcase its work to the largest possible audience at prestigious International and National Festivals to Educational Institutions of all kinds, from Supper Theatre to some of the best performance venues in the world, from large open air auditoria to pocket sized blabk box theatres from factories to gardens.
28 years on, the company has completed over 3000 shows across the world with productions that have often been landmarks and paved the way for a wave of original Indian writing that has followed. Some of the company's work that has been critically acclaimed includes ''Dance Like A Man'' (1995), ''Autobiography' '(1996), '' Jaya - The Victory!'' (an operatic montage of the Mahabharata - 1998), ''On a Muggy Night in Mumbai''(1999), ''Siren City'' (2000), ''30 Days in September '' (2001), '' Sammy'' (2005), '' Kanyadaan'' (2007), ''Weddi ng Album'' (2008), ''Adhe Adhure'' (2011), ''August: Osage County'' (2011), ''Where Did I Leave my Purdah'' (2012),''9 Parts of Desire'' (2013) , ''Boiled Beans on Toast'' (2014), ''Gauhar'' (2015) & "Salaam Noni Appa" (2017)"". Three of these have won the Sahitya Kala Parishad Award for the Best Play of the year, and several have won the prestigious Mahindra Excellence in Theatre National awards, aside from other awards.
The Company has participated in several National and International Festivals, and toured extensively in India and abroad..Some of the venues it has performed at are, the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, the Tribecca in New York, the Portland International Performance Festival in the U.S, at Watermans in London, at The Actors Studio in Kuala Lumpur, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, as well as in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lampur, Penang, Colombo, Dubai, Muscat, Brussels, Antwerp, London, Auckland, Wellington, North Palmerston, Sydney, Melbourne, Lahore, and in all the major cities in the U.S.
The Company aims always, to choose writing of a high quality that is uniquely Indian in voice but which, at the same time has the capacity to transcend its cultural context and appeal to audiences the world over. It has produced 32 plays so far.
