Paro is Devdas' childhood friend and she belongs to a similar family. They are deeply in love. Devdas leaves for Calcutta to pursue his education. Later, when he returns, Paro has grown up and her family wants Devdas to marry her. Devdas' family is against the marriage. Paro requests Devdas to marry her but Devdas gets confused and says no for the wedding because of his parents. Insulted Paro tells her parents that they can find someone else for her. Paro gets married to another person and Devdas is stressed about it. Memories of Paro makes him drink and takes him to Chandramukhi's kotha, she is a prostitute in Calcutta and she tries to give love to him but he is not able to forget Paro. He falls sick due to extra intake of alcohol. He remembers the promise he gave to Paro that he will definitely meet her once. Devdas goes to meet Paro and loses his life in front of her door.
