Summary of the play DHARMANATI:
The story is based in the 10th century BC and revolves around queen Sheelavathi and king Okkak. The play showcases the practice of `Niyog` where the women who are not able to conceive by their husbands are provided with a mate. Queen Sheelavathi, too, is forced to undergo Niyog against her wishes. The play proceeds with the strong narrative, powerful dialogues focusing on the trauma the king and the queen go through during the night of Niyog.
