Synopsis
Diary of a Madman by Lu Xun
The story begins with a note from the narrator written in describing his reunion with an old friend. He discovered that friend`s brother was ill. The rest of the story consists of 13 fragments the narrator has copied from a diary the brother kept while "mad", written in it.
The diary reveals that he suffered a "persecution complex", and became suspicious of everyone`s actions, including people`s stares, a doctor`s treatment and as his "madness" progressed, he experiences psychosis . The last chapter concludes with a plea to "save the children
The story is adapted and performed by Aman Kumar, an alumnus of National School of Drama, Varanasi. He was an actor with LTG Repertory for 1 year and SRC Repertory for 3 years. Aman has acted in more than 35 plays, among which Tughlaq, Agni Aur Barkha, Achhuta Daman, Kanyadaan, Saiyaan Bhaye Kotwal, Rashmirathi, Charudattam, Sita Banwas, Mrityunjay, Uttar Ramayan, Jaaneman, Malvikagganimitram, Anveshak, Chekhov Ki Duniyaan, Mir Jafar, Prem Kabootar, Daku Sultana, Mahabali are to name a few. Aman is an assistant director in critically acclaimed film Ajjo featuring Yashpal Sharma & Directed by Ramji Bali.
