The play is about a political satire on the day-to-day life of a common man and his life. Gadha symbolizes the real common man. The story starts when a Dhobi loses his Gadha who was important to him as his family member. A policeman named Kotwal is always occupied with the romance with a dancing girl comes to know about the incident of Aladad Khan and investigates from locals about this incident.

A local shopkeeper makes fool of Kotwal and tells him that a person by the name of Aladad died due to some reason and his owner is sad about it, but being election time some people are creating rumors so that local nawab may get public sympathy. Policeman informs the nawab about the death of a common man named Aladad. Nawab decided to announce a royal funeral of the common man named Aladad to win the public support.

But the problem occurs when it comes to fore that no human of this name has died. As the nawab has made an announcement so he gets killed a man of this name and arranged a royal procession for his body. In this way, he succeeds to win public sympathy but the Dhobi still kept crying for his Gadha Aladad.
