Written by the iconic Spanish Playwright, Garcia Lorca, Blood Wedding was staged for the first time in 1932. An unqualified condemnation of violence Lorca’s play was celebrated for its inherent message of peace. The pandies’ “contemporarisation”, brings the play to India, to contemporary Punjab. Sticking the basic storyline, the play highlights the message of a condemnation of violence and killing. The script works as a metonym to condemn the growth of divisive forces that lead to destruction and murder on our globe.
