Drama | Hindi | Age 12+

The Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre: Delhi | 200 Onwards

Written by eminent writer Javed Siddiqi and Directed by Salim Arif, GUDAMBA is a heart-warming monologue that keeps the audience at the edge of their seats throughout the play. The story revolves around an ambitious young girl Amina (Lubna Salim) who gets married and thinks that her man of dreams is God’s answer to her prayers. Living as a Bahu in an old sprawling joint family house with its complicated domestic politics, Amina saunters her way through with comic effervescence and self-deprecating humour. 'Gudamba' is a compelling study of changing times, a theatrical delight worth experiencing.

Lubna Salim, the acclaimed actress from films like Ritesh Batra’s Photograph, Paresh Rawal’s OMG, Aam Aadmi Family web series, Television shows like Maryam Khan, Khirkee, Mera Naam Karegi Raushan, and Baa Bahoo Aur Baby brings to life this character with an incisive edge.
