One of the Girish Karnad’s most celebrated musical play, which involves a plot within a plot that merge at a point. Hayavadana is a creature with a man’s body and a horse’s head, the offspring of a deity in the form of a horse and a woman; Hayavadana yearns for perfection as a human. Padmini is caught in a love triangle with two men who are best friends: Devdutt, a man of intellect and Kapil, a man of muscle. In a similar fashion, these three also yearn for fulfillment.
