"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." --Maya Angelou
We all have stories from our lives to tell - some funny, some thought-provoking, some self-reflective and some simply unbelievable; our own stories.
When was the last time you sat down to tell your story to others? How wonderful it would be to get together and spend a nice, cozy evening on stories from our lives - sharing some, hearing some; some new perspectives, some common experiences. And what if you also get to see these stories being performed - on-the-spot by a creative group of actors, through text, movement, images, and metaphors! Your life coming alive in front of you – magical, memorable.
First Drop Theatre presents, 'Heads you share, Tales we hear', a Playback theatre show where we invite you to come and watch your own stories being performed, on-the-spot, in the format of Playback Theatre.
Playback Theatre is an interactive theatre format where people, from the audience, share their personal stories and a group of actors improvise on-the-spot. The stories are based on real-life events that happened to the teller, either from a long time ago or something that happened recently. The playback team consists of actors and a conductor. The teller tells his/her story and watches the story or part of it enacted on-the-spot by the actors. The stories and thoughts would cover a range of emotions and genres. The actors use their creativity and skill, to present an engaging and dramatized retelling of the audience member's story.
