Faisal, a mentally impaired father, lives with his daughter Diya and grandmother Fatima in a valley under military rule. Civil liberties are suppressed, media silenced, and opposition leaders jailed. Faisal’s peaceful life shatters when he is falsely accused of murdering the Colonel's daughter and sent to a dark prison. There, among a mix of convicts and innocent detainees, Faisal is quickly convicted and sentenced to death. Initially beaten by inmates, he is unaware of his innocence, but he gradually earns their respect through incidents that highlight his kindness and integrity. His relationship with Diya remains the emotional heart of the play, while the inmates’ stories reflect a diverse cross-section of society. The play delves into the abuse of power, flawed justice systems, and moral reckoning, blending mimesis to mirror real life and catharsis to evoke emotional purification.
