Jnanpit awardee, Padma Bhushan Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambar’s celebrated abstract play – Narcissus is back on stage.
Based on the Myth of Narcissus – the play deals with philosophical questions that humankind struggles with from time immemorial. Desire and attraction, love & lust, memory & pain – all these basic human emotions have a psychological basis. The play questions how they arise and develop in a man.
A man haunted by the loss of a twin, searches for an ideal replacement in women. His trauma leads to an unending, violent quest. The woman he loves is bewildered by his bizarre search.
The play leaves us with several pointers about human psyche. And the audience ponders on the wonder of human emotions.
This play stars Hari Dhananjaya, Yashaswini, Bharath, Usha D Salian, Dilip Kumar, and Hariprasad. The play is directed by Dharshan Prasad.
