It is the last day of Krishna. The ‘Kurukshetra’ period is over, the ultimate disaster of the Yadavas has already happened.
Lord Balarama has eventually faced the fag end of mortal life. Now, the Lord (protagonist) sits alone in the midst of the forest, waiting for the inevitable death. The ever-depressed human emerges, leaving behind all his glory as God. Krishna asks himself about his own benefit from his life. Like a spectator, he views the charismatic karmas that made him larger than life—his confrontation with Shishupala, his passion for Vrindavan, his earnest wish to become the best among his fellows in the field of politics, his unconditional affection for Draupadi, his fear of the power of King Jarasandha, the promise-broken incident in the battle of ‘Kurukshetra,’ his dreams, and thousands of unfulfilled wishes screaming at him.
These reflections have made him a man. He wants to throw away the mask of a Lord and live the rest of his life—though it is too short to truly call it a life—as a man. But still, his unparalleled intellect makes him foresee and feel what is going to happen next. He tries to be ignorant; he tries to be a common man. But ultimately, will this strong, indifferent feeling toward life change the God, the Lord, the ‘Purushottama’?
