This play is written by Manish Joshi & Directed by Amul Sagar.
The play highlights the unfulfilled desires of a person and how he struggles to reach the motive to earn his unusual desire. The play begins with introducing the protagonist of the play who is called as ‘Bhagwan’. Bhagwan was bounded labour but somehow he escapes and reaches a city where he decides to earn on his own.
At the city he becomes a shoeshiner. While he used to polishes the shoes, he used to damage the pants of his customers with the boot polish. His customers with anger, used to curse him. His customer shouted at Bhagwan and told him that a pant means a lot for a person as it is the ‘status symbol’ and is a possession with which the owner is proud of.
Listening to this, Bhagwan decides that he will also buy a pant. He finds out that the pant costs Rs1500 and he began to save for it.
After sometime he saves Rs 500 but a tricky magician fools Bhagwan and takes away his savings. Seeing this Bhagwan did not lose hope and works harder to earn a pant for him. After many comic and heart touching episodes, Bhagwan is able to buy a pant. But, unfortunately it is unfit for him as it the ladies’ pant. Realizing this he gives the pant to the tailor but having nightmares about pant he takes back.
In the concluding scene, Bhagwan is dying and his last wish is to wear the pant. But, this time too he is unable to fulfill his desire, as the pant was unfit and Bhagwan dies with an unfulfilled desire.
The elements of magic show and stage innovations made the play enjoyable. The audience appreciated the play as they were left enthralled with the performance.
