Popular Theatre Festival 2018: Maharathi
Jatin Sarna, Happy Ranajit, Sahil Singh Sethi, Megha Mathur, Enab Khizra, Shuddho Banerjee
The play throws up issues regarding blind commitment and true logic where Krishna is portrayed for the first time as a political figure. It captures Karna's trauma to that of a socially oppressed, which even gives a light on the modern contemporary caste system of our society.
With neat design, gripping plot and powerful dialogues, the play created a sensation in early 90's nationwide when actors like Saurabh Shukla, Ashish Vidyarthi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Pahwa, Vijay Raaz and Manoj Bajpayee acted under the extraordinary direction of Shri Krishan Kant. Now the most well-known actors of Delhi theatre are going to be a part of Maharathi under the same roof. So here's to you, once again under the same extraordinary direction of Shri Krishna Kant.
Catch Jatin Sarna as Karna, Happy Ranajit as Krishna, Sahil Singh Sethi as Duryodhana.
