Portal Waiting

In Portal Waiting, Abhi Tambe delivers a solo immersive performance blending theatre, sound art, and live music. Set in a future world, it follows two characters: a transhuman cyborg from the moon, embodying humanity's pursuit of technology and freedom, and the last man on Earth, a lonely old man seeking company in an abandoned city. A storyteller-musician weaves the tale of a man who left Earth for the moon years ago. Abhi plays all roles using a microphone, electric guitar, and sound controller pad. The performance is experienced through headphones, creating a unique auditory intimacy that blends connection and isolation, reflecting the complexities of the 21st century.
