Poet: Alexander Pushkin
For the first time in India, Alexander Pushkin's narrative long poem "The Gypsies" has been written as a play and is going to be staged. "The Gypsies" has been praised for its originality and engagement with psychological and moral issues. The play shows the gypsies obeying different laws of freedom and love and how monogamy does not suit them. It also tests the moral boundaries and adjusting of the nobility to customs of common people.
