Sir Syed (Urdu) -- It is an hour long Solo performance by Tahseen Munawar. The play was premiered online in the USA in 2021. It has been premiered live in UAE in November 2023. The Delhi premiere is on the anvil on August 11. The play shows Sir Syed, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, writing a letter to the students of his college during the last phase of his life in the late 1890s. It finally turns out to be an entertaining yet poignant drama on the life, times, works, and worth of the Great Old Man of India. 

The play features Urdu scholar, poet, and TV and Theatre artist Tahseen Munawar,  active in various fields of arts and entertainment for the past 30 years or so. 

It is written and directed by Dr M Sayeed Alam, reputed for his penchant for Humour & History, and also the bio dramas on prominent figures like Ghalib, Maulana Azad, K L Saigal, Bahadur Shah Zafar, etc.      

Last but not least, the play is presented by Pierrot’s Troupe - the theater company credited with giving many new, original, and entertaining productions to Hindi, Urdu, and English Theatre: Ghalib In New Delhi, Akbar The Great Nahin Rahe, Maulana Azad, Big B, Ghalib, K L Saigal, Ghalib Ke Khat, Shah Jahan - O- Mumtaz, Pakistan Aur Alzheimer’s, The Tale of Quarles, Sahir Ka Khyal Aaya etc.
