‘Taramandal’, a Play by Neel Chaudhuri is an iconic tale that celebrates everyday heroism, even as life takes over.

The play is faithful to the character of Patol Babu, much of the dialogue and some other characters have been invented to flesh out his story.

Ray’s story flashes back every now and then from Patol’s present and past moments of his failed ambition to become a serious actor. These back stories are played out in short vignettes, using other characters who share a ‘history of disappointment’ with Patol, but in different contexts.
