Two boys Riaz and Abidh, break out into a quarrel during a football game. Riaz, in a fit of rage, points a gun at Abidh and then shoots. Abidh dies immediately. Riaz is sentenced to death, by the powers to be. A few moments before his public lynching, at the Townsquare where all the criminals are executed, Abidh's mother is asked if she will forgive Riaz and spare him from being hanged to death. Will she?
The story is set in Iran at a time when around 700 people in a year, were publicly hanged for the crime they committed.
The play has been created in India, at a time when we need to look at forgiveness even more closely, rather than resorting to revenge.
