An author in a surveillance state where every word written has to be on the grid finds himself in a bind. He has no control over his thoughts, only on those he chooses to express. But his thoughts compel him to express them the way they come to him. This leads him to write a book off the grid. And the state deems that as sedition. The state must know every word uttered. For all his effort to conceal, the state finds out about his off the grid writing act and puts him on trial. The punishment for sedition is death or worse held indefinitely without a charge with no recourse to writing. But can the state afford that. Keep an author alive and not know the words in his head?
