A man who claims to be 14000 years old who has not aged a day since he was 35. This incredulous premise sets the stage for The Man From Earth written by Jerome Bixby. Every 10 years or so John Oldman has to move on leaving everyone behind. He has to pack his bags and depart or there will be the talk of him not aging. When presented with an opportunity to say goodbye as who he actually is, John decides to tell his friends who have come to his house.
This story then turns an impromptu farewell party into a mysterious and intense interrogation with the plot advancing through intellectual arguments between John and his fellow faculty members.
