A writer, so immersed in his fantastical writings of gruesome child murders, finds himself facing the consequences of his writings being played out in real life.
In this rendition of ‘The Pillowman', through symbolic set design and taking the theatrical idea of “show, don’t tell” to a whole new level, Kaivalya Plays brings a fresh take on Martin McDonagh’s edge-of-the-seat dark comedy.
The story revolves around a writer, Katurian, who has been brought in for interrogation concerning a series of murders involving children, that take place in a manner similar to those in his short stories.
As the story unfolds, we are taken through the nooks and crannies of the writer’s psyche, building up to an ending that leaves the audience with more questions than answers.
This production of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh is produced by Kaivalya Plays under license from Concord Theatricals and presented in collaboration with the Programmes Team, Indian Habitat Center and supported by the Instituto Cervantes Nueva Delhi.
This show is strictly for audiences aged 16 and above. It includes mentions of violence, abuse, and trauma.
