Ambal brings to you Sadat Hasan Manto's famous short story Toba Tek Singh. Post 1947, India and Pakistan decide to exchange their mental asylum inmates on a religious basis. As this news breaks inside a mental asylum in Lahore, what follows is funny, farcical, satirical and absurd.
The inmates start asking all the right and relevant questions, but they are not to be taken seriously as they are 'certified' as crazy by the establishment. One of them, Bishan Singh is seeking the current whereabouts of his native place called, Toba Tek Singh. But, post partition, nobody knows whether it is in India or Pakistan or some place else; not even God! But, he doesn't give up!
On the day of exchange he refuses to budge, till hegets a clear answer about the location of his native place, Toba Tek Singh. What follows leaves both the countries stunned!
