This presentation at Prarambh is a unique subject which each one of us can relate with in our daily lives. A social comedy play, 'Veenaben Viral Thaya' deals with the devils of probably the most used & abused device of our generation- the Mobile phone. At one time the basic human necessities were limited to Roti, kapda aur makaan but today the fourth element which has been added to the list is certainly a Mobile phone. Just like the first three, we the people of today cannot do without the mobile phone too.
Our attachment to this hand-held device & all the social media on it has increased to such alarming proportions that we have actually become closer to people who are thousands of miles away from us yet have created an unconditional distance between the people who live under the same roof. We feel a void if we don't check our phones every few minutes. These new age addictions have their own advantages and disadvantages too and in certain instances can be very fatal too.
The story deals with a mother, Veena who is disturbed by her son's addiction to his mobile & the games that he plays on it. In a freak incident the son meets with an accident attributed to his over usage of the mobile which disturbs the mother quite a lot. She then decides to file a Public Interest Litigation in order to ensure that other kids elsewhere do not have to suffer & go through the painful ordeal that her son was going through. What follows are hilarious situations which will not only bring in more awareness without being preachful as to where are we heading ahead in future. It will make us think about the physical hazards associated with the over usage of electronic gadgets.
Undoubtedly, a must-watch for all parents & kids. The teens will relate to this subject as it is very relevant to today's times. A social subject with humorous situations is what this play is all about. So do come in with the entire family to watch this one!!
