2014 marks one hundred years since the birth of Wales` most famous writer, Dylan Thomas. Best known for his `play for voices`, Under Milk Wood, he is also recognised as one of the great poets of the twentieth century and an unrivalled short story writer.
On a visit to India, two actors from Thomas` home town of Swansea want to share their love of his work by presenting a recital of some of his most accessible and enjoyable writing. Gareth Armstrong and John Griffiths have devised an hour of storytelling and verse that will remind those acquainted with Dylan Thomas of his genius, and give new listeners a chance to discover it for themselves.
As well as a taste of Thomas`s lyrical and ground- breaking poetry there are reminisces of Welsh life, tales of pub-crawls and holiday outings, and even some authentic songs, both sacred and profane.
