In our endeavor to improve the experience of managing an event for our organizers, BMS is now providing a scanning solution that will help organizers validate tickets at the venue of an event in just a few simple steps. With an easy to use application that can be opened on any mobile browser, organizers will now be able to streamline the entry at all their events.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install an app on my mobile device to scan tickets?
No. A separate app installation is not required for scanning tickets. The organizers just need to login to hostmyshow.com on a mobile browser and they'll be able to start scanning the tickets for their events and show.
Do I need internet connectivity to scan tickets?
Yes, currently the mobile phone which is being used for scanning tickets needs internet connectivity in order to validate the tickets in real-time.

In one of the upcoming enhancements, we'll allow the organizers the download the data for their events onto their devices which will help them scan tickets even when there is no internet.
How can I keep track of how many ticket holders have entered my event?
When users are selecting the show they want to scan tickets, our scanning app displays a progress bar. This shows the progress in terms of the number of tickets that have been sold for the event and the number of attendees who have already entered the venue.
Is it possible for one ticket holder to enter multiple times?
No, one ticket holder can enter the venue only one. If the same ticket QR code is scanned again, the scanning app will throw an error indicating that the ticket has already been scanned.
Can users enter the venue with a screenshot of the tickets?
A screenshot of a ticket also has the same QR code as what the users would see in their purchase history. Hence, a user would be able to enter the venue with a screenshot of the ticket also. However, we've introduced an animation in the user's purchase history which will visually help organizers differentiate between actual tickets and screenshots.
How do I deal with users who are not able to access their QR codes?
The scanning app also has a fallback option to search for tickets by a user's Booking ID which is available in all the SMS and Email communications sent to the users. In the rare case where a user is not able to access their QR codes, the Booking ID available in the Email/SMS can be used to validate the tickets and allow users to enter.
Can I undo a scan that I have already done?
No, currently we do not have the option to 'Undo' a scan that has already been done.
Can I scan ticket holders even after the event has started?
Yes, we allow ticket scanning for an event within + or - 12 hrs from the actual time for the event i.e. if an event is happening on May 13 at 6:00 PM, the organizer would be able to scan tickets for the show anytime between May 13, 6:00 AM and May 14, 6:00 AM.
Will tickets of another event be granted access?
No, tickets sold for other events or other shows of the same event will not scan successfully through the scanning app. The organizer will see an error indicating 'No Ticket found'.
