Chess Tournament Rules and Regulations 

1. Registration & Eligibility 

Players must complete registration through the provided Google Form 

Players must provide their chess.com username during registration 

Entry fee must be paid prior to tournament start 

Registration will be closed if sufficient number of players have registered 

Tournament will only proceed if enough players register 

2. Tournament Schedule 

Tournament dates: December 28-29, 2024 

All timings are in Indian Standard Time (IST) 

Tournament may extend beyond scheduled dates if there are too many registrations 

Players must be present 10 minutes before their matches 

3. Tournament Format 

Swiss system format 

Each game is 10 minutes per player 

Pairings will be announced before each round 

Results must be reported immediately after game completion 

4. Fair Play 

Zero tolerance for cheating (engine use, external assistance, etc.) 

Suspected cheating will result in immediate disqualification 

All games subject to post-match fair play analysis 

Chess.com`s built-in anti-cheat system will be active 

5. Technical Requirements 

Stable internet connection required 

Players must be available on chess.com 10 minutes before their matches 

Disconnections are considered a loss

6. Communication 

All players must join tournament Discord channel 

Tournament director`s decisions are final 

Issues must be reported immediately via Discord 

Players must be reachable throughout tournament duration 

7. Scoring System 

Win = 1 point 

Draw = 0.5 points 

Loss = 0 points 

Tiebreaks: Buchholz system 

8. Playing Area 

Quiet space required 

No additional assistance allowed during games 

9. Prizes 

Distribution based on final standings 

All prizes subject to fair play verification 

Winners announced within 48 hours after tournament 

Prizes will only be awarded to the username registered in the Google Form Prizes forfeited if player is found cheating 

10. Additional Rules

Tournament director reserves right to modify rules if needed 

Players must read and agree to chess.com`s terms of service 

Tournament may be rescheduled if sufficient players do not register 

Recording/streaming requires prior approval
