Round Table Car Rally 

Round Table India is a Charitable Organization which is in existence since more 6 Decades. The ultimate objective of this organization is Freedom through Education wherein it has constructed more than 6,000 classrooms across India impacting 1.8 Million kids with a Total Cost of Rs 212 Crores. Round Table India is a fastest growing Young Man Association which is having more than 5,000 members across India spread over 100 cities of India. Globally, we are more than 60,000 members spread over 87 countries. 

Since past 25 years Ahmedabad Chapter is organizing an event called “Blind Man Car Rally, wherein a person who is visually impaired or visually challenged navigates the entire route across the Ahmedabad City and guides the person who drives the car. The route is only known to the blind given to him in braille. It is a family event where in 1 car the whole family can sit with the blind navigator. The rally is not about the race or coming first, it’s about completing the route within specific time and distance given in the road map. There are various check points during the whole rally.

We have seen the cases for the past 25 years that generally a blind navigator during the journey of his 3 hours becomes a lifelong friend of the driver of the car and they regularly meet and greet on various locations. In fact in few cases, the blind people are also employed by the drivers in their offices or the companies and become a permanent part of their organization. Generally, when we see a blind people on road trying to cross the signal, we catch his hand and help him to cross the road but this is an occasion where exactly the case is reversed. Here, the blind person will guide and you will go as per his guidance. The unique and a noble initiative which must be experienced on a Sunday morning with the whole family.
