Contemporary with Chhau elements
Mayurbhanj Chhau - has highly evolved techniques of its own for which it differentiates itself from other forms of dance. These techniques of Mayurbhanj Chhau are based on various body movements.
The elements that the dance form highlights are:
- the complete usage of body
- very fluid usage of legs and arms
- a combination of both grace and energy
- a perfect sense of body control
Also, it is one of the rare dance forms which draws from a wide range of subjects-like-martial craft, mythology, history, daily activities, movements of the sub-human creature and imaginative themes.
All of the above gives today's dancer a unique and varied vocabulary to explore from and ultimately enhances the scope of creation.
